Psychosocial Assistance Given to Fire Victims in Maphar

The Psychosocial Support Services Team (LDP) under Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) gave psychosocial assistance to fire victims of Jalan Kebon Jeruk IV, RT 04/06, Maphar Urban Village, Taman Sari, West Jakarta. 

From drawing results, they generally draw houses and mushala, as they want to own a house. While mushala, their activities in the afternoon are Quran recital

It was held at the refugee camp inside the Matahari RPTRA.  

Jakarta BPBD's LDP Team Coordinator Ervienia Oryza said it was done by conducting screening or assessment in a bid to find out, whether anyone has a psychological disorder or not.

For children, they gave them play therapy and education such as singing, coloring, drawing, storytelling, etc. While the elderly were given relaxation by imagining a place where they feel safe, comfortable, as well as beautiful and breathing techniques with facial exercises.

"From drawing results, they generally draw houses and mushala, as they want to own a house. While mushala, their activities in the afternoon are Quran recital," she expressed, Tuesday (2/11).

While the elderly generally still feel sad and some experience sleep disorders and hypertension, due to stress.

She added the LDP team consisted of Jakarta BPBD, Social Agency, Jakarta Baznas Bazis, Taman Sari Sub-district Puskesmas, Matahari RPTRA and Maphar Urban Village Binmas.
